By John Jordan
This is officially my first post on any kind of blog ever. I am really getting in on the ground floor on this one. Let me tell you, I used to think I was technilogically savvy, but after playing gamecube for the first time today with a couple guys born in the late 90s and reminiscing about the glory days playing NBA Live 95 on Super Nintendo, I think I can say that the times have passed me by.
Well for my first post, I just want to make a disclaimer for everyone, my posts will not be nearly as deep as those of joel, matt or dean. When those guys talk, I just smile and nod and act like I know what they’re talking about, really I have no clue. I like being around them because it makes me feel smarter.
I also like being around them because they truly follow Jesus. And Jesus is working here in the Quip. And that’s the whole point of this. I can tell you that I get pretty homesick sometimes, but right now, there is no where I would rather be, because I know God is here. There are easier options for Gao Foua and I. We could go some place where we knew a lot of people and where the weather wasn’t cloudy and rainy all the time, but how can you leave a place where God is obviously working. You just can’t.
So we are trying to join Him in His work here in Aliquippa. And because sports has always been our avenue into relationships with other people, that is our goal. We’re getting involved in sports here in the city, in order to get to know people. And ultimately, getting to know people that we might show them how much Jesus loves them and wants to give them abundant life. We feel pretty inadequate, but I know that God uses the inadequate, imperfect, ugly things of this world to shame the noble and the wise things of this world.
That’s our hope, to be used in the work that God is already doing in this city. God has not given up on this place and neither should we.

HaHa! Super Nintendo was good stuff, I felt blessed to have one!
We are so glad to have both of you in Aliquippa, John. You are following Jesus too. We’re gonna keep following Him, and we’re gonna see Him do some incredible things.
